Kabul: The daughter of Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan, Najibullah Alikhil, was briefly kidnapped and tortured earlier than she was launched, the Afghan authorities on Saturday mentioned.
The Ministry of Overseas Affairs of Afghanistan in an announcement mentioned it “states with deep remorse that on July 16, 2021, the daughter of the Afghan ambassador to Islamabad Ms. Silsila Alikhil, was kidnapped for a number of hours and severely tortured by unknown people on her means residence”.
The Ministry of Overseas Affairs of Afghanistan mentioned Silsila Alikhil “is below medical care on the hospital” after “being launched from the abductors’ captivity”.
Condemning this “heinous act”, the Ministry of Overseas Affairs of Afghanistan mentioned it “expresses its deep concern over the security and safety of diplomats, their households, and employees members of the Afghan political and consular missions in Pakistan”.
“The Ministry of Overseas Affairs calls on the Authorities of Pakistan to take fast crucial actions to make sure full safety of the Afghan Embassy and Consulates in addition to the immunity of the nation’s diplomats and their households in accordance with worldwide treaties and conventions,” the ministry mentioned in a launch.
“Whereas the Afghan Ministry of Overseas Affairs is following the matter with the Ministry of Overseas Affairs of Pakistan, we urge the Pakistani authorities to determine and prosecute the perpetrators on the soonest doable time,” the ministry added.
