न्यूयॉर्क: संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा गुरुवार को इजरायल और फिलिस्तीनी आतंकवादियों के बीच लड़ाई को लेकर बैठक करेगी, महासभा के अध्यक्ष वोल्कन बोजकिर ने सोमवार (17 मई) को कहा कि इस क्षेत्र में वर्षों में भयंकर शत्रुता दूसरे सप्ताह में प्रवेश कर गई।
नाइजर और अल्जीरिया, इस्लामिक सहयोग संगठन और न्यूयॉर्क में अरब समूह के अध्यक्षों ने 193 सदस्यीय महासभा को सार्वजनिक रूप से “स्थिति की गंभीरता और इसके तेजी से बिगड़ने के आलोक में” मिलने के लिए कहा।
15 सदस्यीय संयूक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद इजरायल और फिलिस्तीनियों के बीच संघर्ष में भड़कने पर रविवार को पहली बार सार्वजनिक रूप से मुलाकात की।
परिषद एक सार्वजनिक बयान जारी करने में असमर्थ रही है क्योंकि संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका – इजरायल का एक मजबूत सहयोगी – चिंतित है कि यह पर्दे के पीछे की कूटनीति को नुकसान पहुंचा सकता है। चीन ने रविवार को कहा कि वह फिर से परिषद को एक बयान पर सहमत होने की कोशिश करने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा।
इजरायल ने सोमवार को गाजा पर भारी हवाई हमलों में एक वरिष्ठ फिलिस्तीनी आतंकवादी कमांडर को मार गिराया और संघर्ष विराम के लिए बढ़ते अंतरराष्ट्रीय आह्वान के बावजूद इस्लामी समूहों ने इजरायल के शहरों पर रॉकेट हमलों को फिर से शुरू किया।
गाजा के स्वास्थ्य अधिकारियों ने पिछले सोमवार को 201 में लड़ाई शुरू होने के बाद से 58 बच्चों और 34 महिलाओं सहित फिलीस्तीनी मौत का आंकड़ा रखा। इस्राइल में दो बच्चों समेत दस लोगों की मौत हो गई है।
